Exchange Alley runs for just three blocks, between Royal and Chartres, beginning at Canal Street and ending at what used to be the Federal Courthouse, a stone’s throw away from Brennan’s. An abundance of New Orleans’ history lies here but today it’s great for a quiet afternoon stroll.
This painting, an acrylic on linen canvas, depicts the music of New Orleans, the soft breezes in the warm air, the many flags flying from wrought iron balconies and the feeling of abundant color that greets you throughout the Quarter. I used “New Orleans rose”, rich greens and golds to bring this scene alive.
