Bayous and swamps – southern Louisiana is full of them! Down on the bayou and at the edges of the swamps folks have built their fishing camps. These are rough but ready places for having a great weekend away while fishing, crabbing and shrimping and then, of course, boiling up all that wonderful food for dinner.
This piece was painted in oil, with nature’s colors of gold, greys, browns and greens. I tried to depict these wonderful places sitting on the water’s edge with our dark but translucent water and the mandatory boat or two docked at the wharf.
